Cygwin MySql

  1. Install mysql via usual setup-x86_64.exe
  2. As administrator run ** mysql_install_db
  3. in **/home/birca create file my.ini
  4. To start mysqld daemon run /usr/bin/mysqld_safe &

Runs on port 3306:

netstat -a -n -o | grep 3306

File my.ini:

[client]
user=root
host=127.0.0.1

Then

mysql

should produce:
Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 4
Server version: 5.5.41 Source distribution
